Over USD 500 million mobilized at SEforALL Global Forum

Groundbreaking commitments totalling over USD 500 million to scale energy access and drive the clean energy transition were announced at the 2025 SEforALL Global Forum, which gathered over 1300 participants on 12-13 March in Barbados. Initiatives included over USD 500 million for a distributed renewable energy fund in Nigeria; USD 20 million for a results-based financing fund for mini-grids to electrify rural households in Sierra Leone, plus USD 3-5 million to support clean cooking there; and USD 12 million from the IKEA Foundation for a fund providing generators that run on renewable energy.

A number of national and regional initiatives were launched, including by Barbados and Pakistan, and the 2025 Energy Heroes Awards were announced.
