Why join?

The Inter-Agency Humanitarian Evaluation (IAHE) is a comprehensive, system-wide review of Somalia's 2021-2024 drought response. It shows how coordinated action averted famine and saved tens¡ªif not hundreds¡ªof thousands of lives and describes the challenges faced in preventing the erosion of resilience and ensuring accountability to affected people. Drawing on insights from the IAHE, panelists will explore the successes and challenges of the humanitarian response in Somalia and ongoing efforts to enhance its effectiveness. The panelists will reflect on the learning from the response about needed changes to the broader humanitarian system, discussing how the lessons from this evaluation resonate far beyond Somalia and into the Humanitarian Reset discussion on how to deliver lighter, more devolved, and higher impact responses in today's tight funding landscape.
